![]() ![]() Now take that already horrible mixture and throw in a bratty 8 year old that won't shut her freaking mouth, a freaking loan shark who calls you CONSTANTLY even in timed areas, and a main character who has the emotional complexity of a slug who never talks and you have to make decisions for and you have the **** sandwich that is this game. And the game designers didn't stop there. Like the main character is locked on the party throughout the game, now combine that with the linked system, you can't change party members on the world map, now combine that with the fact that only Leia can steal, and the main character has a super mode that takes over the entire battle, now combine that with multiplayer.you see a pattern? These things, while probably 'meh' when playing solo become a huge irritation when playing in a group. And annoying cause the creator decided they didn't want people having fun cause they changed things up in a way that's just irritating. The battle system is pretty much the same as the first game and that's a great thing. Luckily the game is saved by it's battle system and the music. It's like the developers said they wanted to have something new but not too new or it would drive away players from the first game. The characters from the old game did a fairly decent job at being backup but it felt like they were an odd third wheel at times. The story is about what you'd expect from a JRPG at this point. The two new characters are both really annoying in that one has a voice that will get on your nerves and another is the silent protagonist except he talks when he wants too. It introduces two new main characters and brings back all the first games characters as your party members. Xillia 2 is the sequel to one of the better Tales games in a long time in Tales of Xillia.
